Project Overview:

This involved designing, developing, and deploying a unified, cross-platform commerce ecosystem, including:

  • A high-conversion e-commerce website for a seamless desktop and mobile shopping experience.
  • A native iOS mobile application.
  • A native Android mobile application.

This integrated solution provides Khanda's customers with an intuitive, scent-focused user experience across all devices, ensuring effortless browsing, selection, and purchase of their unique fragrance collection.

Objectives:

The primary objective was to establish a robust, unified, and high-performing digital retail platform that provides a premium, frictionless shopping experience for Khanda's customers, ultimately driving online sales and brand growth. Key objectives included:

  • Maximize Conversion: Design intuitive user flows and a streamlined checkout process to maximize the number of visitors who complete a purchase.
  • Establish Brand Presence: Create a visually stunning, luxury-focused design that reflects Khanda's brand identity across all platforms (web, iOS, and Android).
  • Ensure Cross-Platform Parity: Develop a consistent feature set and user experience across the website, iOS app, and Android app to enable customers to shop seamlessly regardless of their device.
  • Enhance User Engagement: Utilize native mobile features (like push notifications) to increase customer retention, loyalty, and repeat purchases.

Scope of Work:

The scope covered the complete design, development, and deployment of a full-stack e-commerce solution.

1. E-commerce Website Development

  • Design: Full UI/UX design (wireframing, mockups, prototyping) for desktop and mobile web interfaces.
  • Front-End: Development using modern framework standards to ensure a fast, responsive, and cross-browser compatible experience.
  • Back-End: Integration with inventory management, payment gateways, and shipping logistics APIs.
  • Key Features: Product catalog browsing with advanced filtering, secure user authentication, shopping cart, and a multi-step checkout funnel.

2. Native Mobile Application Development (iOS & Android)

  • Native Development: Separate, optimized builds for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java) to leverage native performance and features.
  • User Interface: Custom design optimized for the mobile form factor, emphasizing easy navigation and product discovery.
  • Key Features: Push notifications for sales/order updates, biometric login (Face ID/Fingerprint), in-app payment methods (Apple Pay, Google Pay integration), and platform-specific performance optimizations.

3. Core E-commerce Functionality

  • CMS & Product Management: Implementation of an admin system for managing product listings, pricing, and content.
  • Secure Payment Integration: Integration and testing of major payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, local services) to support secure transactions.
  • Order Fulfillment: Logic development for order processing, tracking, and customer service tools.

4. Testing and Deployment

  • Quality Assurance (QA): Comprehensive unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across all supported devices and browsers.
  • Deployment: Full deployment of the website to a live hosting environment and submission/approval of the mobile apps to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
